One of the biggest blessings in my life is sharing time with family and friends, especially when they come to visit at our home.

The times are marked with laughter, reminiscing, a tour of some favorite spots in town, and the sharing of Godly wisdom. Many times, these friends have shared the wisdom gained from their own journeys with the Lord, speaking directly to the struggles in my own life.
We gather round our kitchen island, chopping vegetables, making sandwiches, whipping up the best spicy guacamole this side of Mexico, and talking. Sharing all that has happened in our lives since the last time we could spend hours without counting. No Continue reading
My keyboard clicks out the first few words in my new surroundings and I feel the excitement. Those butterflies swirling around with anticipation of walking out onto a new stage–a new platform. I gaze up at the blue ribbons dancing above my head and floating around my side. And once again, I’m a self-conscious teenager gliding across the gym floor, dressed for the winter ball in a stylish smooth satin bodice with a poofy skirt. The crystal globe sparkles light across the dance floor similar to the way these ribbons swirl the light of joy around my new home.

Well, here I go for a second time writing this post. Somehow Blogger decided to publish–without my knowledge or even pushing the publish button. Of course at that time, there was nothing on the page!! And then I wrote for two hours…..And. It. Was. All. Gone!
When autumn winds began to blow before the crush of the Christmas panic, I met an incredible writer at a Christian writers conference. And I made a promise. A promise to post a review about her award-winning book. Two months have passed. Life has slowed down. And with the introspection we all do around the New Year, I think this book review is timely.
